U.S. Open: Round 3 pairings will actually be threesomes, play scheduled to begin at 12:15 ET

ARDMORE, Pa. — The bad weather may be over at the U.S. Open, but it continues to alter the way the tournament is being played. USGA officials announced on Saturday morning that Round 3 will be played in threesomes and groupings will still go off from the 1st and 11th tees. Several groups were forced to finish their second rounds on Saturday morning after play was suspended due to darkness on Friday night.

The first Round 3 groups are scheduled to tee off at 12:15 p.m. ET. We will post the groupings and times in this post as soon as they are announced.

For what it's worth, it looks like a beautiful day for golf. The forecast in Ardmore calls for plenty of sun with temperatures in the low 80s. The damp conditions that covered the course for the first two rounds are quickly drying and it'll be interesting to see how they change the challenges of an old course that has defeated the players over the first 36 holes.
