Sisk embodies the open nature of US Open (The Associated Press)

FILE - In this June 15, 2011, file photo, Geoffrey Sisk hits to the 11th green during a practice round for the U.S. Open Championship golf tournament in Bethesda, Md. No major is more democratic than the U.S. Open, saving about half its tee times for those who make it through 18 holes of local qualifying and 36 holes of sectional qualifying. Sisk knows the drill, he'll be playing in his sixth U.S. Open after qualifying again this year. (AP Photo/Matt Slocum, File)

Geoffrey Sisk is going back to the U.S. Open, an example of why this major championship truly is open to one and all.
